I immediately had strong feelings the moment I looked at it. I felt scared and actually had to not look at it and go back to it several times! My entire body began to feel anxious, claustrophobic, fear, and trapped. The intensity of the color red symbolized something evil. Beneath the black "bars" staggered felt like there is no way out. Underneath the black lines, I could see the blue and green colors forming faces. Solemn ones with sunken eyes and another with extreme fear and confusion.

wow! that is a strong response. Isn't it amazing the way emotions move in our bodies, always fascinates me. And so helpful for the emotional intelligence research I am doing.

I wanted to just like it because the colors were vibrant and the dynamic balance of composition. But I was quickly overtaken by the splayed body, pierced by black thorns, as if an insect specimen. then all I could see was the dehumanizing effect, the roadway that her body had become. Beaten. Sad. Angry for a moment. Then I focused again on the vibrancy to find the red heart strong in the field of yellow, finding myself coaxing myself to see hope in the obscured details.

Wow, that picture makes you stop in your tracks and pause for breath! She looks like she is throwing herself at the mercy of someone or something...possibly fate? Vulnerable in her nakedness she has a red heart chakra as though she is grieving over a lost love, or maybe life itself like a lost, tortured soul. In her right leg I can see what looks like a man, and in her left a little black character like some sort of...grim reaper!! Makes me feel sad, and yet the vibrancy of the colours also have afeeling of...where there's life, there's hope.

The throwing of oneself at the mercy of someone or something has made me really think about the feelings I had as I made this art work… This is quite a big artwork, I really needed to become physically involved in putting the paint on the paper… I don't use an easel or anything like that so its all ground work… and the physical nature of the process, for this artwork was part of it, the feeling of stretching and surrendering …hmmmm yes really good words, thanks for that

Your welcome, enjoying the opportunity to stop and think, instead of maybe just thinking 'I like' or 'don't like' a piece of art and also getting an insight into the thoughts and processes behind your work,so.... thank you Arna!

Her emotions are shattered, broken and exhausted. She has given all that she can . Also she looks vulnerable and violated. It is a very gut feeling painting

at first I thought you said mildly amusing :) and that really got my attention! Arousing is a perspicacious response, you're getting right into it, because as I paint there is an urgency of life energy that seems to need to be delivered to the paper… and I know its very sensual connected stuff…

I feel like this art is hyper and anxious-all about youth's roller rinks, laser tag, and clowns-things that are supposed to be Fun!!! and make you hyper, but that also bring anxiety because often it's not just fun-there's a birthday party to interact with, lines to wait in, or you don't know if your parents will really let you have all the fun that you want. The lines across all the bright colors seem to indicate the tension that goes with the Fun!

E Colors of bright indicate a mood. this is an abstract and when I view them I tend to look to find what others might not see in it. In this one I can see a man in it. also in this specific artwork it gives a spacial feel. its ability to connect certain spheres of universal connectedness. that man in it I can feel he is deep on the inside because of how far inside the piece you have to find him. at the same time he's a viewer of the world-meaning he's on the outside.

thats so perceptive really, a deep response which actually indicates the philosophy of a lot of my art, on the inside as we are on the outside…..
