the sun is in my mouth
Endorsement!
The poetry of Arna Baartz can only be described by one word: open. She says in the beginning, “I rarely punctuate I cannot predict your flow take my words make them your own” without a period, of course. Like any other reader, I have my favorite poems and phrases, and you will have yours. For example, in The Brilliant Lit, she writes:
licking its way out of me
colouring the sky, ambushing my skin, stroking
Some of her work is visually laid out, creating impact. Quite nice, quite powerful.
Some of her poems have a “punchline” indicating the cosmic joke, at which I laughed heartily. Others made me stop and think, consider her words, not for what she was saying to herself, but what the words were saying to me. This is the beauty of her work! ~ Art Noble
